I keep on getting attacked by ninjas....Don't give me that look.

Well...while you're here...why don't you waste a few minutes reading about some of the strange things I have to say about my awkward life? Enjoy procrastinating.

The Truth Behind Twilight

I now understand why so many people are obsessed with Twilight.
This is completely reasonable, and I don't care how much you love Twilight, just read it and you will be enlightened. Twilight makes so much more sense now.
I mean, I always knew Twilight was just a plot revolving around money and fans. But here is the science, the TRUTH, behind it.
Complete with diagrams. ^_^
I agree with all of it.
And you should too.
I'm also going to read Nightlight: Parody of Twilight and Twilite: A Parody. I hope they do an awesome job of making fun of Twilight. >:D

The Second Day of Winter Break

I hate how the world works.
You want something so badly, and then once you get it you want the opposite again.
Kind of like right now...it's winter break. Last week I was sooo excited for winter break!! And once it came, I wished I was at school again.
I miss having people to talk to.
I miss horrible chapter outlines.
I miss making a fool of myself in p.e.
It's all better than sitting here Facebooking all day. But once we get back to school, I'm going to wish it was break again.
Stupid world.

Something good happened today though. My friend Josh was looking through "People You May Know" on Facebook. He found our old history class student teacher from seventh grade, Mr. Lin. He also found Mr. Lin's blog. So he shared the link with me, and when I read the part about him teaching at Lakeside it got all nostalgic and such. So Mr. Lin: if you read my comment and went to my blog and are currently reading this, history is going pretty well. It's more in depth than last year, since it is American history. I liked world history better, because of the Aztec/Inca/Maya unit we did [which is my favorite subject in the world]. And I hope the sock thingie I made you is doing awesomely.

I just noticed that Blogger's spell check checks in British. It corrected "favorite" into "favourite." I also tried "theater" and I got "theatre." "Color was changed to "colour."
It also [sadly] counts "blog" as an error. It seemed pretty contradictory.

That Confused Me.

Huzzah. Today is the first day of winter break. WINTER break.
But why is it 80 degrees outside??? >_< It's been extremely hot yesterday and today, which has completely ruined winter break! I want to sleep.
Sigh...for the past two weeks I have worn scarves and Uggs and sweaters and such. And then break comes and I'm in shorts and a t-shirt and I'm sweating.
I hate this.

Also today, I noticed that my flowers died.
They were fake flowers.
How is this even possible?

Weird Stuff that Happened to me This Week

Weird Stuff that Happened to me This Week:

1) I found my dad watching Ni Hao Kai-Lan. He was interacting with the TV too.
2) I had an epic Poke-Duel with my friend Josh. Via FacebookChat.
3) I made the mistake of showing my brother Charlie the Unicorn. Now he has watched all three episodes. Multiple times. And now I get to wake up to him singing the Banana song or the Sea Creatures that Love You song every single morning.
4) I made my friend Audrey a squishy bunny. It was fun carrying it around to school because it was so ginormous. But then I accidentally made him throw up.
5) Someone called me at six in the morning on Wednesday. It was a wrong number. And I never got to make up the sleep I lost.
6) I made my clay octopuses into earrings. :D I will post pictures. But not now.
7) My dad hacked my Facebook. And wrote a bunch of creepy statuses. It's not the first time he's done this. [I deleted those statuses though]
8) I heard a commercial that said: "Give a goat to a family in need." I now want to be a needy person really badly.
9) I wrote 55 lines on a poem that was supposed to be 15 lines. And the title of the poem was "I Can't Write Poetry." [Yeh, I've told you this already, but I wanted to put it in the list]
10) I watched How the Grinch Stole Christmas twice today. Once in drama, and once in language arts which is taught by my drama teacher. She's also my advisor, so I almost had to watch it again at our holiday party. But thankfully we didn't.

Ornithiphobia

Yesterday, the entire school went outside to watch the Student Vs. Staff volleyball game. It was painfully boring
So my friend Kavya "amused" me the entire time.

Basically what happened was this:
Kavya described to me the first five episodes of Big Bang Theory in great detail and commentary. And it also involved me staring off into space and going "uh huh..." and "hmm..." at the end of every sentence. It went on for some time.
But it was better than watching volley ball.

Did you know that I have a fear of Canadian Geese?
I have to walk past an entire flock of them every time I walk home. It scares me so much...they look at me sooooo evilly! And they walk in this uber freaky way and there heads move in this weird beat... and they walk all slowly and you never know when they're gonna attack!!! D:

[gosh!! stupid evil geese]
Every time I walk home I spend at least 8 minutes standing still as the geese walk around me. And it takes me forever to find a path around them! But I usually don't, so I slowly dart past them. It's so terrifying.

Shudder. [this terrifying picture is from Wikipedia. it makes me scared.]

December

It's been December for sixteen days now...so this post is a bit late. But lots of fun stuff happens in December, so I'm gonna post all of them right here!!! [if you have any more holidays/events to add to the list, comment them!]

1) Christmas and Hanukkah and other holidays!!! Holidays are fun. :D

2) The Sopher Gopher's birthday!!! It's on Christmas Eve. December 24th. It kinda sucks though, because you wake up one day and it's your birthday, then you wake up the next day and it's Christmas. :/

3) December is "Change Your Facebook Profile Picture to your Favorite Pokemon Month". I changed my picture to Chikorita, my friend Josh changed his to Cyndaquil, and my friend Dimitri changed his to Totodile. I found a picture with all three pokemon in one scene. :D So now we each cropped our Pokemon out of the scene and those became our new profile pictures. We are such nerds. ^_^

4) Winter Break. We need a break.

5) It gets cold and less than 85 degrees each day! Which it has been. I love this somewhat cold weather.

Happy December. \(>w<)/

Nerd.

I am officially a nerd.
There have been disputes about whether I am a nerd or not, such as:

A) Sophie is not a nerd because she is not in geometry, where all the real nerds are.
B) Sophie is such a nerd because she hangs out with all the geo-nerds and smart people.
C) Sophie is not a nerd because she does not freak out about getting two answers wrong on her history test which would lower her grade by .3 percent.
D) Sophie is such a nerd because her glasses are always askew and crooked and never seem to stay in one place.
etc. etc.

So, I have decided that I AM a nerd.
I decided last night because I
  • Wrote a 55 line poem on how I can't write poetry
  • Wrote a two page metaphor comparing my mind to an ocean...for FUN
  • Changed my computer cursor to a dinosaur that walks when you click something (this is more along the lines of a geek, which in my mind is a nerd+awesomeness)
  • Have founded a confederation (with my friends Chelcee and Josh) that is against word counts....the Anti Word Count Confederation
  • Use Facebook about 60-70 hours per week
And I think this qualifies me as a nerd. Especially numbers 1, 2, and 3.

The Shape of a Football

I ate a fruit cup today. I hated every second of it.
As soon as I opened it, the syrup burst out and flew across the entire table.... it was disgusting.

You know what's weird? Footballs are weird.
They are just sooooo oddly shaped and if you drop them they bounce everywhere. But not like a basketball where it just bounces up and down. They bounce any which way and you are prone to being slammed in the face with the pointy side of a football.

We had to play football-basketball today. I think that is the worst invention for a game ever. EVER. Footballs don't work well on a basketball court, first of all. If you drop a football on the court, it bounces all over and the opposing team usually catches it before you do. Also, footballs are not easy to throw up in the air and shoot.

I Can't Write Poetry.

I am poetically challenged.

I have to write a free-verse for Language Arts. I also had to write a ballad and an epic. Both of those were horrible. Since the free-verse is also free topic, I chose to write about how I can't write poetry. My poem is called: "I Can't Write Poetry"

It's very ironic explaining the fact that I can't write poetry through poetry. Very ironic.

And also: [this is irrelevant but] Audrey made an awesome post about me. It made me laugh. XD

I Despise of Fruit Cups

Fruit cups are gross.
I've been thinking this for a long long while now.
But I've been influenced by a horrible experience I had with fruit cups today.
So here is why I despise of fruit cups.

1. They come with horrible sticky sugary high fructose corn syrup. It's disgusting!! And it tastes horrible. I think it comes with more of that stuff than the actual fruit. >_< And whenver you open the fruit cup, the syrup comes spilling out no matter how careful you are! So I always have to drain it in the sink before I'm okay with eating it. It's just nasty.

2. The fruit is oddly colored. Yeh, it sounds weird, but the cherries are always bright pink!! Cherries are not naturally PINK!!! It creeps me out. So I never eat those.

3. The plastic lids are quite hard to peel off. I usually struggle in opening them [which may or may not be due to the fact that I have absolutely no upper body strength], so the syrup spills out anyway!

Fruit cups should be banned. Just because I think they should. Which is reasonable enough. ^_^

RAIN

Rain
Rain
Rain
Rain
Rain

Today, it rained. For like the first time in a year. I love rain.

Rain
Rain
Rain
Rain
Rain

I stepped in so many puddles. It was worth ruining my uggs. Oh, it was sooo worth it.

An Overview of my Rainy Day:

First Period: Well, today was the start of the new trimester. I had first period drama. ^_^ It's my third time in drama [7th grade First Tri, 7th grade Third Tri, and now, 8th grade 2nd Tri] which I think helps me with my theatre classes at this one theatre I act at. I have had a new teacher each time...

First, I had Mr. Pang. He's also my history teacher. Since I love both history and acting, it was pretty fun. Although this class was more focused on putting on a production, whereas I would have liked it if it was m
ore learning skills.

Second trimester was Mrs. Wancheck, who is extremely hilarious. Like uber hilarious. The kind of hilarious where she makes fun of everyone in the class and calls people dorks and makes nerdy jokes. :) However, nobody in that class was really ready for the performance...it was such an epic fail. >_< style="font-weight: bold;">Second Period: Algebra 1, as usual. Lots of graphing today.
Third Period: History. Supreme Court Mock Trials. I am debating tomorrow. Fun... -_-
Fourth Period: We had to take notes o
n this video about poetry. The video was really really fast and we had to fill out this eight page (front to back) packet. But everything was out of order... I think I almost gave myself a paper cut flipping through the pages too fast.
Fifth Period: Science. Another thing about remembering the odd, wacky objects Mrs. Brady has on her back counter. OHH! And it's Mrs. Brady's birthday. Happy birthday :B!!
Sixth Period: P.E. was rather good toda
y... it was a very small class, so small that it didn't have to be divided into two classes. So all of us are together, and we get to combine two units into one! Which is good because I don't have to repeat the bowling unit again...*shudder*

Jarritos

My friends Josh and Alex don't thought Jarritos = burritos in a jar. It made me sad. So here you go, Josh and Alex:

Jarritos are a mexican soda that is like soda but better than soda ^_^. I still don't get how that makes sense....but it's just fabulous. However, the only places I seem to be able to find Jarritos is at the beach and at this one awesome place that makes the awesomest taco salad ever.

[My dad took the picture of the Jarritos bottles with flowers in them. Those three bottles with the flowers used to be on my desk behind this laptop that I am writing from. But then the flowers died and the bottles got moldy.]

When Life Gives You Lemons You Wear Steak Shaped Bandaids

I sprained my wrist last last Wednesday....

Okay, so I was riding my bike to my mom's house but it was [surprisingly] really cold. I was pulling my sleeves over my hands to keep them warm like I usually do when this happens. However, I forgot I was holding a bag in one of my hands so my arm slipped and my bike went all wobbly and I flew off and my arm landed in a funny position. Also, it was so intense that a run-on sentence was called for. Yep, that intense. So my knees were all scraped and cut, my right leg had a huge scrape that hurt a lot, and my left arm hurt when I tried moving it.

When I got home, I had to wear a bulky ace bandage. It made me look intense/hardcore [as Audrey would say], though. \(>w<)/

Also, I realized that I managed to [finally] injure myself, so I could use those fancy new steak shaped bandaids I got when my favorite art store recently went out of business. It was fun covering my legs in steak bandaids. It was like POW throwing those lemons right back into life's face!! WHAT NOW!!! ^_^

Eh.

Ugh....so today as we were changing out of our P.E. clothes in sixth period (last period of the day) Audrey told me she felt like a dork because she was the only one of us blogging. Yeh....I didn't blog the entire month of November. Now I feel like a dork.

Mkay.... So... OOH! Happy Late Thanksgiving everyone! This year I decided I wouldn't celebrate Thanksgiving, aka the massacre of Native Americans that has been twisted into a national holdiay. Then I thought about the food. So I changed my mind.

I also broke my toe the day last wednesday. The day before that I lost my pencil case with everything in it. The day before that I got my algebra test scores back, which I totally bombed and I learned that I did my algebra project wrong. Then, I stabbed myself with my toothbrush when I was brushing my teeth. Sigh....that was not my week.

Ooh, but to make up for me losing my pencil case, I found this Louis Vuitton bag in my room that I forgot I had [I think my lola (grandma) or some other relative gave it to me for my birthday or Christmas one year, which is obvious cuz I'm a cheapo] that was filled with all my mechanical pencils and cool erasers that I had had since fourth grade including bagillions of sea animal/food shaped erasers from my sixth grade science teacher and one of my favorite pencils that has plastic food items on top. ^_^ That saved me a lot of money, as I was going to order all new supplies from the Morning Glory online store [because they have a wider selection than the actual store] where I usually get my stuff for school. And, yesterday I sewed myself a new pencil case. It is beigeish with a green flowery lining and a green zipper. I sewed mushrooms on it too, cuz I thought it was lacking my usual awesomeness xD aha. Audrey called it "pretty darn pro" and my friend Aadil got all freaked out when I told him I made it. [I'll post a pic...but not now]

Speaking of Aadil, he calls me a G-Rated Lady Gaga, which my mom apparently finds hilarious. (>_<) So anyways... I'll blog more this week. Sorry 'bout the past month.
